CSR Holly Guacamole “Blue” is an exceptional 2-year-old gelding raised by our family here in South Carolina. We are proud to say that we know this horse as well as anyone could- and his pedigree has a deep, meaningful history with both our family and our farm. Blue is out of one of our favorite broodmares, Blue Guacamole, an NRHA money earner. Chris Roux and Blue Guacamole earned 3rd place at the Southeast Reining Horse Futurity, along with a pile of AQHA points in reining, cow horse, and ranch riding. Chris also trained her dam and showed her grandsire. Blue’s top side carries just as much history with Roux Reining Horses. The late Steady Smoking Guns was an important part of our breeding and training program and left a lasting impact on our horses. It is rare to find a horse whose pedigree is so personally known and meaningful to the people who bred and raised him. Blue represents four generations on his dam’s side and three generations on his sire’s side that have been ridden by Chris Roux. The horses that make up Blue’s pedigree are not simply names on paper—we have personally known and worked with them. We can speak firsthand to their good minds, trainability, athleticism, and soundness. For us, Blue is more than a talented young horse with a great pedigree. He is a continuation of generations of horses that have been an important part of our family, our program, and our history. Blue is the kind of horse who will get noticed in the show pen!! His striking looks alone make him stand out in a crowd, but his A+ movement, athleticism, and all-business personality take him from “great” to "exceptional"—and possibly even "once-in-a-lifetime". We believe strongly in this gelding and are excited to see him succeed in a show-focused home. Blue’s 2-year-old year has followed a thoughtful, age-appropriate program. He had 60 days of riding from January through February, was turned back out from March through April, and has been ridden consistently since May. Like all of the 2-year-olds here at Roux Reining Horses, Blue enjoyed plenty of trail experience before transitioning into the arena. He is comfortable going through water and has experience moving cattle in the field. He has good ground manners and no bad habits. Blue is well-behaved in the stall and easy to get along with in the pasture, where he does well with his herd. Blue is the gelding for someone looking for a horse who travels correctly, is a little less “in your pocket” and a lot more “all business,” and has the athleticism and presence to wow the judges in the show pen. KSU DIAMOND BOON 2024 AQHA Gelding

KSU Diamond Boon “Pepto” is a talented young gelding by an NRCHA money earner who has been an absolute joy to own and train. We purchased Pepto as a yearling, and he has been given the time and foundation to develop into the horse he is today. Like all of the young horses at Roux Reining Horses, Pepto was allowed to grow up in the pasture before beginning his career under saddle. His 2-year-old year has followed a thoughtful, age-appropriate program: 60 days of riding in January and February, turnout in March and April, and consistent riding since May. Pepto’s early riding focused primarily outside the arena, giving him valuable experience on the trails and in the pasture. He has learned to navigate the challenges that come with riding outside, including crossing water and splashing through the pond. His transition into the arena has been intentional, building on the confidence and experience he developed outside. Pepto has also been a special summer project for our 14-year-old son, Colby. With our guidance, Colby has done an exceptional job helping bring along this wonderful gelding. Pepto fits right into the program here at Roux Reining Horses. He is stalled during the day and turned out with his herd at night. He is not only easy on the eyes, but also has good manners and a pleasant disposition. He has been raised with a focus on developing a confident, well-rounded young horse both in and out of the arena.
