In the show pen, is a 3x ARHA World Champion in Amateur Boxing, Select Boxing, and Amateur Ranch Cutting. She is also an ARHA Reserve World Champion in Select Ranch Cutting. On cattle, she's automatic, drop your hand and she will go to work. She is the perfect teacher for someone looking to get started or go further in the show pen.
She's not just a cow eating machine either... she is a truly broke horse that also rides properly in the arena. She gives her face, is broke through her body, pops right off into her leads, has a great stop, and effortlessly maneuvers off your seat and leg. The best part about her is that you don't have to be an expert to pilot her. I've taught countless beginner kid lessons on her where she slowly plods along the rail while the kids are trying their hardest to post the trot and steer at the same time.. ;-). More often than not, this starts off with them pulling and balancing on her face. She takes it like a saint and never makes them pay for their mistakes.
We've taken her on overnight camping trips, countless trail rides, ponied colts off of her, rode bareback in a halter and lead rope around the farm, hauled her to cattle practices and sortings, and she's even stood patiently while the lesson kids tried to learn to swing up on a horse from the ground bareback.. many, many, times! :-)
She currently stalls during the day and turns out in small mixed herd at night. She's not mareish in the slightest and gets along great with the others in her field. To catch her, she'll walk right up to you in the field and basically put her head right in the halter.
I know we've made her sound like a dream horse, but she really is! If you need something SAFE and BROKE for ANYONE, you can't afford to not bring Ruby home with you!
