KSU Diamond Boon “Pepto” is a talented young gelding by an NRCHA money earner who has been an absolute joy to own and train. We purchased Pepto as a yearling, and he has been given the time and foundation to develop into the horse he is today.
Like all of the young horses at Roux Reining Horses, Pepto was allowed to grow up in the pasture before beginning his career under saddle. His 2-year-old year has followed a thoughtful, age-appropriate program: 60 days of riding in January and February, turnout in March and April, and consistent riding since May. Pepto’s early riding focused primarily outside the arena, giving him valuable experience on the trails and in the pasture. He has learned to navigate the challenges that come with riding outside, including crossing water and splashing through the pond. His transition into the arena has been intentional, building on the confidence and experience he developed outside.
Pepto has also been a special summer project for our 14-year-old son, Colby. With our guidance, Colby has done an exceptional job helping bring along this wonderful gelding.
Pepto fits right into the program here at Roux Reining Horses. He is stalled during the day and turned out with his herd at night. He is not only easy on the eyes, but also has good manners and a pleasant disposition. He has been raised with a focus on developing a confident, well-rounded young horse both in and out of the arena.
